New album Marianne Faithfull: a big WOW!

Flabbergasted....This is one of the superlatives I use for Easy Come, Easy Go, 18 Songs for Music Lovers, Marianne Faithfull's new album. This album was recorded in New York in 2007 and was produced by Hal Willner, who previously did two other Faithfull albums. With the aid of strings, brass and a new band, Faithfull does a stunning job, singing an interesting selection of 18 covers , many of which recorded in just one take. From Ellington's Solitude to Black Rebel Motorcycle's Salvation, from Dolly Parton's Down From Dover to Merle Haggard's Sing Me Back Home, it just never ceases to amaze! This album includes some big names, a.o. Keith Richards, Nick Cave, Jarvis Cocker, Rufus Wainwright and Sean Lennon. This album comes in two formats: a 10 track-version and an 18 track version with a bonus DVD. Undoubtedly one of the most interesting albums this year.
