Miscellaneous

The weeks after the opening of Wyman Shoots I translate and send reviews to Bill Wyman's office in London. Blondie Chaplin is very happy with the NPS documentary on the Beach Boys. Bernard Fowler sends me a message about doing a tour in Europe. On Sunday evening I finally get hold of Tim Ries, who is practising at home and plays me a few tones on his saxophone. We talk about his plans in summer. Georgie Fame and I are in touch; we agree to meet next week, when he is here to play with his sons. I start making tentative plans to go to London, which may coincide with Georgie's residency at Ronnie Scotts. Georgie kindly invites me to come over to the show and sends me a CD.
Meanwhile Canadian blues guitarist Morgan Davis sends me an email, asking me to get him a gig in Amsterdam. Dutch pianoplayer Dirk Jan Vennik sends me copies of the interview he did with Bill Wyman at the Coda Museum, printed in a beautiful glossy magazine. I talk about the possibilities of setting up a gig with Morgan Davis in Amsterdam.
My spring holiday has started, kicking off with a visit to Paradiso to see Peter Green .There I meet Geraint Watkins, who also played with the Rhythm Kings and is back here with Green. I meet the band backstage, am introduced to Peter Green. We round off the evening at the bar of the American Hotel, talking about the Paradiso gig, the Rhythm Kings and Bob Dylan, who played some of Geraint's music in one of his radio shows.
